I am so honored to become the President of the Illinois Dental Hygienists’ Association. I have been involved with IDHA for over 15 years.

I have chosen TEAMWORK as my theme. We are all members of many teams: here at IDHA and ADHA, at work in our offices, at home with our families. So I am here to help guide our team as IDHA, but I can not do it alone. You, all my players, must work together to achieve our goals.

We all make up the IDHA team because we have a passion for dental hygiene, we all have a self interest regarding dental hygiene in Illinois, we have the same vision, we look to our leadership for guidance, we maintain common values, we are here to support and cooperate with each other, we all feel a duty and responsibility to the profession and our patients, Everyone has a calling. There is a reason why you are here, today!. This reason is greater than any degree, or any paycheck.

I challenge everyone to find a new member by January 1st. You can find a membership application at the IDHA website, www.idha.net or you may go to www.ADHA.org to register on-line. Please place your name and component on the lower left corner and mail to Mary Lucas at the IDHA main office. We need to recruit new players for our team. We need to share our passion with all the hygienists in IL. We need to help them understand the impact IDHA has had and will have on the future of dental hygiene. NO one is more motivated than you, a current player/member. To all my friends and family, thank you for all you do for IDHA and I.

Thank you all for putting your trust in me to guide IDHA. I will try to take all new ideas and concerns under consideration. I will try to be considerate of others and our varied concerns throughout our large state. So thank you for this honor and I hope to guide IDHA and all of Illinois’ hygienists to a new level of respect. You may reach me info@idha.net or at 1-800-550-IDHA.
