The
mission of this association, in agreement with the American Dental Hygienists'
Association, is "to improve the public's total health, to advance the
art and science of dental hygiene by ensuring access to quality oral health
care, increasing awareness of the cost-effective benefits of prevention, promoting
the highest standards of dental hygiene education, licensure and practice,
and research and representing and promoting the interests of dental hygienists."

The Illinois
Dental Hygienists' Association a chartered constituent of the
American Dental Hygienists' Association and represents the profession of
dental hygiene in the State of Illinois. Membership is based on a tier
system at the national, state and local level.

the membership of the IDHA meets during its annual session to conduct the

The IDHA advocates for universal
access to preventative oral care across the State of Illinois and supports
legislation to meet that end.
